Due to disruption in sea shipping and reduction in supply, oil companies have had to keep the gap between two bookings to a minimum. This change has been implemented unofficially from Wednesday.
Double-cylinder users will have to wait for 30 days and single-cylinder users will have to wait for 21 days.
Customers with double-cylinder connections will now have to wait 30 days between bookings. People with single-cylinder connections can book the next refill only after 21 days.
Earlier, customers could book refills at shorter intervals.
More than 1.3 crore LPG connections in Telangana
There are around 1.3 crore LPG connections in Telangana. There are an average of 58-60 lakh bookings every month.
In recent days, bookings have increased as customers fear possible shortages due to the war.
Oil companies said that the purpose of these restrictions is to prevent artificial shortage.
LPG is supplied to Telangana from terminals in Visakhapatnam and Mangaluru. To prevent overbooking, oil companies have changed the booking software in their enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
