Bengaluru: It is reported that BJP MLA Byrathi Basavaraj, who has been arrested in connection with the murder of rowdy-sheeter Biklu Shivu alias Shivaprakash, is not cooperating with the CID investigation.
Meanwhile, CID police are searching for three mobile phones that are reportedly missing. Though Basavaraj has been arrested, the three mobile phones he was using have not been traced. Preliminary investigation has revealed that before the murder of Biklu Shivu, Basavaraj was frequently in contact with the main accused Jagadish through these mobile phones. However, the phones, which could support the investigation, have not yet been recovered. Sources said that even when questioned about them, he has not responded clearly. Despite technical efforts to trace the devices, they have not been located.
Basavaraj allegedly not cooperating
For further questioning, Byrathi Basavaraj has been taken into CID custody for seven days. However, sources claim that he is not cooperating with the interrogation, citing health reasons. He has been questioned about how he came to know the prime accused Jagga alias Jagadish, photographs of him with other accused persons circulating on social media, and whether it is true that he travelled to another state with them. Investigators are also confronting him with certain pieces of evidence. However, CID sources stated that Basavaraj has not given clear answers.
