A bank employee was arrested and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody after allegedly misbehaving with police personnel at the Kavoor Police Station while under the influence of alcohol.
The accused, Manjappa Surendran, a resident of an apartment in Land Links area, had repeatedly called police complaining about youths playing shuttle near his residence.
Recently, he visited the police station along with his wife to lodge a complaint but was reportedly intoxicated. Police said he verbally abused officers and threatened to approach the Police Commissioner if his complaint was not registered.
After leaving the station on his scooter, he was later taken into custody near Pacchanady. Police safely dropped his wife home. During custody, he allegedly continued to use abusive language and threatened officers. He was produced before the Third JMFC Court in Mangaluru, which remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days.
