After all, how did a wedding card sent on WhatsApp become dangerous?
According to Indore Police, cyber criminals are sending an APK file to people in the name of wedding invitation. This file looks like a digital wedding card. As soon as a person downloads it, complete control of the mobile goes into the hands of the hacker.
Once the phone is hacked, the fraudsters gain access to your contact list, bank details, UPI, OTP and personal data. After this, either the money is withdrawn directly or an attempt is made to defraud others using your own number.
