December Bank Holidays: As soon as the month of December starts, the holiday calendar of banks has also come out. This time, banks will remain closed for a total of 18 days in the entire country including different states. Apart from 4 Sundays and 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every week, banking operations will remain halted in many states due to their respective local holidays. If you are thinking of doing any important banking work in December, it would be better to see this list first.
According to the RBI calendar, banks will remain closed on different dates for different reasons. Be it inauguration day, local festivals, holidays to Christmas or state level celebrations, due to all these the branches will not open in many cities. By looking at the list of dates given below, you can easily understand on which day banks will be closed in your state.

Know when banks will remain closed in December
1 December: Banks will remain closed on Inauguration Day and Indigenous Faith Day in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.
3 December: All banks will remain closed in Goa due to the festival of St. Francis Xavier.
7 December:Due to it being Sunday, there will be no banking operations in the entire country.
12 December: There will be a local holiday in Meghalaya on the death anniversary of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma.
13 December: Banks will remain closed in all states from the second Saturday.
14 December: It is Sunday, so banks will not be open everywhere.
18 December: There will be a holiday on Soso Tham death anniversary in Chhattisgarh and Meghalaya.
19 December: Banks will remain closed in Goa on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day.
20 December: Banking services will remain closed in Sikkim due to Losung-Namsung festival.
21 December: It is Sunday, so banks across the country will remain closed.
22 December: Banks will remain closed in Sikkim on the second day of Losung-Namsung.
24 December: There will be a holiday in Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya due to Christmas celebrations.
25 December: Banking services will remain closed across the country on Christmas.
26 December: The second day of Christmas celebration will also be a holiday in Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya.
27 December: It is the fourth Saturday, so banks will remain closed in all the states.
28 December: Banking services will remain closed everywhere on Sunday.
30 December: There will be a local holiday in Meghalaya on U Kiang Nangbah Day.
31 December: Banks will remain closed on the occasion of New Year in Mizoram and Manipur.
Despite the closure of banks, online services like UPI, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS will continue to operate as before. This means that these holidays will not have any impact on money transactions, bill payments and other digital activities. ATMs will also remain operational throughout the month.
The stock market will also remain closed for a total of 9 days in December. According to BSE, there will be no trading on every Sunday and Saturday as well as on Christmas, on 25th December.
