India’s new SIM-binding regulation is set to change how messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram are used. Under this rule:

• These apps will only work on the phone where the registered SIM is active.

• If the SIM is removed or changed, app access will be blocked immediately.

• WhatsApp Web will auto-log out every 6 hours, reducing the risk of unauthorized access on unknown devices.
