Bollywood Actor Pankaj Tripathi’s Mother Dies in His Hometown Belsand, Bihar

Actor Pankaj Tripathi is mourning the loss of his mother, Hemwanti Devi, who passed away on Friday, October 31. She died peacefully at their family home in Belsand, Gopalganj district, Bihar.
Her cremation was held the following day with close family and friends in attendance. The family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
Family's Statement
In a statement released by Tripathi's team, they expressed their deep sorrow over the passing of Hemwanti Devi. "We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of Shri Pankaj Tripathi's beloved mother, Hemwanti Devi, who left for her heavenly abode peacefully at the family's hometown in Belsand, Gopalganj, Bihar, on Friday," they shared.
Personal Loss
Hemwanti Devi was 89 years old and had been unwell for some time. She passed away in her sleep surrounded by loved ones. Pankaj Tripathi was present during her final moments. The family has asked for thoughts and prayers for Smt. Hemwanti Devi and requested privacy to grieve.
Recent Family Tragedy
This loss comes shortly after the death of Tripathi's father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, on August 21, 2023. At that time, Tripathi was promoting OMG 2 in Mumbai but returned to Bihar immediately for his father's last rites.
Career Journey
Tripathi initially helped his father with priestly duties and farming before discovering acting during college theatre in Patna. He graduated from the National School of Drama (NSD) and moved to Mumbai. After years of small roles, he gained recognition with 'Gangs of Wasseypur' directed by Anurag Kashyap.
Known for his realistic performances and grounded presence on screen, Tripathi has delivered acclaimed roles in films like Masaan, Newton, Stree, Mirzapur, Mimi, and OMG 2. His journey from humble beginnings to becoming a celebrated actor is inspiring.
The family continues to mourn their immense loss while requesting privacy to cope with their grief.
