Banks will remain closed in many states on 21 October 2025 on the occasion of Diwali Amavasya, Deepawali and Govardhan Puja. Banks will not open on this day in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Manipur, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Srinagar. At the same time, banks will remain closed in some states on 22 October 2025 due to Diwali, Vikram Samvat New Year, Govardhan Puja, Balipadyami and Lakshmi Puja. These include Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

After this, there will be a bank holiday in some states on 23 October 2025 due to Bhai Dooj, Chitragupta Jayanti, Lakshmi Puja Bhratrividiya and Ningol Chakkauba. Banks will remain closed on this day in Gujarat, Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh. There are more bank holidays in some states. There will be a four-day holiday in Sikkim from 20th to 23rd October. There will be a three-day holiday in Chhattisgarh including October 20 and 21. There will be a two-day holiday in Maharashtra on October 21 and 22, while banks in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh will remain closed on October 22 and 23.
