New Delhi, Oct 1, 2025 – Just ahead of Dussehra, consumers have received a mixed update on LPG prices. While the price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by up to ₹15–16 across major metro cities, the price of the 14.2 kg domestic cylinder remains unchanged, offering some relief to households.

Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) revise LPG prices on the first day of every month based on global energy trends and currency fluctuations.

🔺 New Prices of 19 Kg Commercial LPG Cylinder (Effective October 1, 2025)

• Delhi: ₹1,595.50 (earlier ₹1,580) → Increase of ₹15.50

• Kolkata: ₹1,700 (earlier ₹1,684) → Increase of ₹16

• Mumbai: ₹1,547 (earlier ₹1,531.50) → Increase of ₹15.50

• Chennai: ₹1,754 (earlier ₹1,738) → Increase of ₹16

This revision will particularly impact restaurants, hotels, bakeries, and small businesses, which rely heavily on commercial LPG cylinders for daily operations.

✅ Domestic LPG Prices Remain Stable

The good news for households is that domestic LPG cylinder rates remain unchanged this month. Across most Indian cities, the price of a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder is in the range of ₹850–₹960.

Here are the updated domestic LPG prices in key cities:

• Delhi: ₹853

• Mumbai: ₹852.50

• Lucknow: ₹890.50

• Ahmedabad: ₹860

• Hyderabad: ₹905

• Varanasi: ₹916.50

• Ghaziabad: ₹850.50

• Patna: ₹951

With household budgets already under pressure from rising food and fuel costs, the unchanged domestic gas rates come as a relief to families during the festive season.

🎉 Government Schemes Offer Extra Relief

While commercial users will feel the pinch, the government has announced fresh measures under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) and state-level welfare schemes:

• The Uttar Pradesh government has promised to provide one free LPG cylinder to 1.85 crore women beneficiaries ahead of Diwali.

• The Central government recently announced the rollout of 25 lakh new Ujjwala connections during Navratri, taking the total number of connections under the scheme to 10.6 crore households nationwide.

These initiatives are expected to ease the festive burden for low-income families, ensuring access to clean cooking fuel.
