When can you do a free update
Earlier any citizen of the country could update any detail related to the Aadhaar card for free till June 14. It has now been extended to 1 year. This means that now users can update their Aadhaar card for free anytime in the year 2025.
Usually, a fee or charge has to be paid to update the Aadhaar card. This charge depends on which information of the Aadhaar card is being updated.
How to update?
To update any information related to the Aadhaar card, the steps given below have to be followed.
Step 1- First of all you have to go to the official website of Uidai.
Step 2- Now come to the section with My Aadhaar here.
Step 3- After this, enter the Aadhaar number here, after which you will get OTP on the registered number.
Enter this OTP and log in.
Step 4- After logging in, tap on the Document Update option.
Step 5- Select the information related to the Aadhaar card that you want to update.
Step 6- Now upload the requested information and documents.
Step 7- After all the processes are done, you will get URN (Service Request Number). Write it down somewhere for future use.
Let us tell you that through the URN number, you can know the status of the updated information in the future.
How many times can you update the details?
According to the rules of UIDAI, different limits have been kept for changing the information given on the Aadhaar card. For example-
The name written on the Aadhaar card can be changed up to two times.
Address- The address written on the Aadhaar card can be changed many times. This means that no limit has been given regarding this.
Date of Birth- The date of birth written in it can be changed only once.
Mobile Number- The mobile number written on the Aadhaar card can be changed any number of times.
You can update all the information mentioned above for free in the year 2025.
