In a major relief for millions of Aadhaar cardholders across the country, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline to update Aadhaar documents for free. The new deadline is June 14, 2026. This free facility is only available through the myAadhaar portal, where users can upload documents related to their identity and address at no cost.
📢 Free Update Now Available OnlineAccording to UIDAI's official announcement on social media, the initiative aims to help citizens keep their Aadhaar details accurate and up to date.
Previously, users had to pay ₹50 for these updates, but the online document update service is now completely free — though only via the online portal, not offline.
❓ Why Should You Update Aadhaar?

You can update:

Proof of Identity (PoI): Name, Date of Birth, etc.
-
Proof of Address (PoA): Current address.
But if you wish to update:
-

👉 You’ll need to visit the nearest Aadhaar centre and pay the standard fee for those updates.
