WhatsApp is testing a new feature for its users, under which profile photos can now be created with the help of AI. According to the report of WABetaInfo, this feature has currently been released under beta testing for select users. With the help of this feature, users will be able to generate photos of their choice through text prompts.
Available only for group icons
However, this feature is currently limited to group profile photos only. This means that the facility of AI generation of the profile photo of individual WhatsApp accounts will not be available right now. For group icons, users will be able to generate images by giving text prompts. AI will create a unique image according to the same theme.
Beta testers get early access.
WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot in which it can be seen that some beta testers have been given early access to this feature. This shows that the company is testing this feature with limited users so that it can be improved based on the feedback.
Feature is also seen in the stable version of Android.
The report also states that this feature has started appearing for some users who are not part of the beta program. The appearance of this feature in the stable version of Android indicates that the company may soon roll it out for general users as well. However, no information has been given yet about the availability of this feature for iOS users.
New voice message transcription feature introduced in WhatsApp
Apart from the AI feature, WhatsApp has also recently launched the voice message transcription feature in India. With the help of this feature, the text transcript of any voice message can be seen. The special thing is that this feature is processed on the device itself, which maintains the privacy of the user.
Limited support in Hindi language transcription
At present, this transcription feature does not support the Hindi language, but according to reports, the transcript of voice messages recorded in Hindi is also visible. This indicates that this feature can be further improved in the future, and support for other Indian languages , including Hindi can also be added.
