Which Phones Will Lose WhatsApp Support?

As per a report by the Daily Mail, WhatsApp will stop functioning on the following iPhones:

• iPhone 5s

• iPhone 6

• iPhone 6 Plus

These devices run on iOS versions older than 15.1, which no longer receive regular security updates. WhatsApp depends on these updates for its core functionalities and safe operation. That’s why Meta has decided to discontinue support on these outdated models.

Who Is Affected?

Only iPhone users running iOS 15.1 or earlier will be impacted. If you're using an Android phone, there's no need to worry. However, iPhone users with older models are advised to upgrade their devices if they want to continue using WhatsApp without interruptions.

WhatsApp’s Official Stand

A WhatsApp spokesperson stated that the company reviews older software versions each year and discontinues support accordingly. So far, WhatsApp has supported iPhones running iOS 12 or newer. Now, only devices running iOS 15.1 or above will continue to receive updates and support.
